Could things have been done differently in trying to rescue the 6 trapped miners in Utah?

They seem to suggest that a 'rescue capsule' be used as soon as possible.
I would assume that at this point, if they used the capsule, they would have to send men in the capsule down into the mine. Otherwise, how would lowering a capsule be effective? They have (and continue to) drill holes and then drop microphones down. But they hear nothing. So I would think that a capsule would be to lower men into the mine to try and find the lost miners.
Should they - or COULD they - have used a capsule earlier?
I pray for the safe return of these 6 missing miners, however bleak the situation may be at this point. And may God bless the families of all involved in this tragedy.
I'm sure that the rescuers will have "lessons learned" sessions afterwards. And, in an imperfect world, lessons are always learned. This doesn't mean that any of the rescuers were negligent in their approach. This was an ugly and dangerous situation with no textbook answers.
